Ep 1. When Ibrahim was catapulted into a Fire
Resume — Voice in the Dessert Series | Ust. Omar Suleiman
Loneliness consist of two types:
1. When you are physically away from people
2. When you are surrounded by people, but still alone.
Imagine if you are Ibrahim. You were catapulted into a fire, abandoned and humiliated by your family and entire people. Totallly alone.
But interesting things from Ibrahim, even though he was ostracized from his community and his family. He was very close to his Lord and always said:
Hasbunallah wa ni’mal-Wakil
The Power of Hasbunallah wa ni’mal-Wakil
Story from pious #1
It was narrated by Ibn ‘Abbas who said: When (Prophet) Ibrahim (Abraham) was thrown into the fire, he said: “Allah (Alone) is sufficient for us, and, He is the Best Disposer of affairs.”
Story from pious #2
So did Messenger of Allah Muhammad (ﷺ) when he was told: “A great army of the pagans had gathered against him, so fear them”. But this (warning) only increased him and the Muslims in Faith and they said: “Allah (Alone) is sufficient for us, and He is the Best Disposer of affairs (for us)”. [Al-Bukhari].
Story from pious #3
A beautiful example of A’isha (RA) and how she was being slandered in Madina, where she had no one to support her And her immediate remembrance of Allah, Hasbunallah wa ni’mal-Wakil!
And Allah SWT never let A’isha (RA) down. Allah SWT revealed Ayat in her support and elevated her status as a result of that slander.
What follows Hasbunallah wa ni’mal-Wakil is that they returned with the favor from Allah swt and His bounty having no harm touched them.
So let’s reflect upon and realise that whether you have supporters or not, Allah is sufficient.
Hasbunallah wa ni’mal-wakil..
Word meaning:
- Hasbunallah: Allah SWT is sufficient for us
- Wa ni’mal-Wakil: And the best disposer of our affairs.
We have to train ourselves that no matter matter what hardship we face in this dunya, We instinctively say "Hasbunallah wa ni’mal-Wakil!"
